		The United States Equestrian Federation (USEF) has announced that U.S. 
		reining athletes will have the opportunity to participate in the 2017 
		FEI World Reining Championships for  
		 
		Juniors and Young Riders. This inaugural event will take place at the CS 
		Ranch in Givrins, Switzerland, August 9-12, 2017. 
		 
		FEI Qualifying Criteria for the 2017 FEI World Reining Championships for 
		Juniors and Young Riders 
			- 
			
 Qualification 
			period begins January 1, 2017  
			- 
			
			A Junior is defined as any athlete from the beginning of the year in 
			which they reach 14 years old until the end of the year in which 
			they reach 18 years old.  
			- 
			
			A Young Rider is defined as any athlete from the beginning of the 
			year they reach 16 years old until the end of the year they reach 21 
			years old.  
			- 
			
			The athlete must achieve a minimum average score of 67 at one CRI3* 
			Junior or Young Rider competition during the qualifying period. Plan 
			to get ready early - it takes some time to get your credentials in 
			order for you and your horse.   
			- 
			
			Horses must be seven years old or older.

		USA Reining Champions Recognized at Tulsa Reining Classic  
			
		
		Congratulations to Fredrick Winn, Elizabeth Kelley Holly Leigh 
		Jacobson, Cole Jacobs, Jennifer Flannigan, Dale Dedrick and
		Cullen Santino LeRoy, who have qualified to represent 
		USA Reining in the 2016 World Para Reining International 
		Championships! They will compete as two USA Reining teams in 
		the competition during the American Quarter Horse Association World 
		Championship Show in Oklahoma City. Currently five other countries are 
		already represented - South Africa, Germany, Austria, The Netherlands 
		and Canada!

		the tentative schedule, the jog will take place on November 12, with the 
		team competition the next day and individual competition on November 14.

		Meet the Platinum Performance Young Rider Team for the 2017 SVAG FEI 
		World Reining Championship for Juniors and Young Riders 
		Lexington, Ky. - Gabriella Kammerer, Dani Latimer, Cade McCutcheon, and 
		Jack Medows are rising stars in the reining world. They will get their 
		first dose of international and team experience when they compete on the 
		Platinum Performance U.S. Young Rider team in the 2017 SVAG FEI World 
		Reining Championship for Junior and Young Riders August 9-12. This 
		impressive group of diverse athletes will bring depth and experience not 
		often seen in riders of their age to the show pen in Givrins, 
		Switzerland. Learn more about them and their accomplishments as they 
		prepare to represent U.S. reining in Switzerland.  
		 
				  
		 
		
		Gabriella Kammerer (Mt. Sterling, Ky.), known as “Boo”, is a 16-year-old 
		high school junior. Kammerer has been showing reining horses since 2014. 
		Some of her major accomplishments include being named the two-time 
		Kentucky Reining Horse Association Champion, as well as the two-time 
		National Reining Horse Association (NRHA) East Central Affiliate 
		Champion. In addition, Kammerer garnered the NRHA Derby APHA 
		Championship title and named the Clayton Woosley Hall of Fame Champion, 
		Buckeye Reining Classic Champion, Tennessee Reining Horse Association 
		Futurity Champion Level 1 and Level 2, IEA Reserve National Champion, 
		and the Central New York Reining Horse Association CRI Silver Medalist. 
		Kammerer will ride her own Gunners Star, a 2009 Paint gelding, in the 
		SVAG FEI World Reining Championship for Juniors and Young Riders. 
		 
		Dani Latimer (Marietta, Okla.) is the 16-year-old daughter of Dean and 
		Bunkey Latimer. She has been showing horses since the age of six, with 
		much success in the show pen. Her accolades include winning the 2016 
		NRHA NAAC Adequan© Affiliate Youth 14-18 Championship. Latimer loves the 
		challenge of competing in reining and the many friends she has met 
		through participating in the sport. Latimer will ride Fancy Sailor Oak, 
		Angelucci Quarter Horses' 2006 Quarter Horse stallion, in the SVAG FEI 
		World Reining Championship for Juniors and Young Riders. 
		 
		Cade McCutcheon (Aubrey, Texas) is the 17-year-old son of NRHA million 
		dollar riders Tom and Mandy McCutcheon, grandson of NRHA multi-million 
		dollar rider/NRHA Hall of Fame member Tim McQuay and NRHA Hall of Fame 
		member Collen McQuay. Starting as soon as he could walk and ride a stick 
		horse, he ran every NRHA reining pattern he could. At age seven, 
		McCutcheon made his reining debut in the first ever Short Stirrup class. 
		By 10-years-old, he was showing in his first NRHA Non Pro Futurity. Some 
		of McCutcheon’s accolades include the NRHA Non Pro Futurity Reserve 
		Champion title, the National Reining Breeders Classic (NRBC) Reserve 
		Champion title, and the 2016 SmartPak Tulsa Non Pro Derby champion 
		title. Since then, McCutcheon has been a top finisher in every major 
		NRHA event he has ridden in. He will begin his senior year of high 
		school in the fall where he will finish his final season of basketball. 
		McCutcheon will ride Tim and Colleen McQuay’s Yellow Jersey, a 2004 
		Quarter Horse stallion in the FEI World Reining Championship for Juniors 
		and Young Riders. 
		 
		Jack Medows (Cuba, Mo.) was born and raised in Cuba, Missouri. In 2016, 
		he started an academic road towards earning his Civil Engineering degree 
		at Missouri Science & Technology in Rolla, Mo. Medows spent most of his 
		life on a horse and began reining in 2011. Since then, he has garnered 
		numerous titles, including the 2014 NRBC Levels 1, 2, and 3 Champion, 
		the 2014 American Quarter Horse Youth Association (AQHYA) World Champion 
		in Reining, the 2015 NRHA Derby Non-Pro Reserve Champion, and the 2016 
		AQHYA World Champion in Reining. He was also the 2016 NRHA Futurity Non 
		Pro Champion and the 2017 NRBC Non Pro Champion. Medows will ride his 
		own Wimpys Show Stopper, a 2006 Quarter Horse gelding in the FEI World 
		Reining Championship for Juniors and Young Riders.

		Ready to compete in the 2017 SVAG FEI World Reining Championships for 
		Junior and Young Riders August 9-12, this group of up-and-coming junior 
		riders is prepared to impress as they spin, slide, and rollback into 
		Givrins, Switzerland. Gain an insider perspective and learn more about 
		the members of the Platinum Performance U.S. Junior Team:  
		 
		Sam Flarida (Springfield, Ohio) is an accomplished 
		14-year-old who started riding and showing with his dad when he was nine 
		years old. In his short career, Flarida is already a three-time All 
		American Quarter Horse Congress Champion and has placed in both 
		ancillary and aged horse National Reining Horse Association (NRHA) 
		events. Flarida is proud to ride Footwork Revolution, a 2010 Quarter 
		Horse Stallion owned by his lifelong friend Katsy Leeman. "Footwork" has 
		won over $100,000 in both Open and Non Pro NRHA events. In their first 
		time competing together, Flarida and Footwork qualified by winning the 
		Syracuse, New York qualifier. When Flarida is not riding, he loves to 
		play baseball and swim with his sister and friends. He also spends a lot 
		of time with his two dogs, Milo and Deeks, and enjoys his family (Dad, 
		Shawn; Mom, Michele; brother, Cody; and sister, Courtney) and horse 
		farm. Flarida is also a high honors student at Clark Shawnee Middle 
		School. 
		 
		Emma Lane (Gates, N.C.) is 14 years old and will be 
		entering the tenth grade in the fall of 2017. Lane has been riding since 
		she was big enough to sit in the saddle and showed her first reiner when 
		she was just eight years old. In 2016, she became the NRHA Youth 13 and 
		Under World Champion. At the FEI World Reining Championships, Lane will 
		be riding Buddy Lane’s Gunner Gump, a 2008 Quarter Horse gelding. Lane 
		not only rides her own horses at home, but also plays varsity basketball 
		and soccer, and is on the yearbook staff at her school. In the future, 
		Lane hopes to participate on a college equestrian team and study to 
		become a neonatal intensive care physician assistant or registered 
		nurse. 
		 
		Emilia Reutimann (Sherrills Ford, N.C.) is 15 years old 
		and attends Statesville Christian School, where she served as the 
		National Junior Society President for the 2016/2017 school year. In her 
		numerous years as an equestrian athlete, Reutimann has gathered a 
		variety of equine accolades, including the 2016 Congress Champion in the 
		National Youth Activity Team Tournament Reining and Reserve Champion in 
		13 and under reining. She was the 2016 Level 1 Buckeye Reining Series 
		Champion, as well as the 2017 National Reining Breeders Classic (NRBC) 
		Youth 14-18 winner and Youth Challenge Champion. Additionally, Reutimann 
		was the 2017 NRBC scholarship winner and currently serves on the Board 
		of Directions for the North Carolina Quarter Horse Youth Association. 
		Reutimann will ride Black Hails Gold, Lisa Reutimann’s 2010 Quarter 
		Horse gelding at the FEI World Reining Championships in August.

		Lexington, Ky. - US Equestrian has named a group of 
		up-and-coming athletes to the U.S. teams for 2017 SVAG FEI World Reining 
		Championships for Juniors and Young Riders, August 9-12, in Givrins, 
		Switzerland. Platinum Performance will serve as the title sponsor for 
		the junior and young rider teams at the inaugural championships.

		USA Reining 2016 Champions 
		Announced 
		  
		The USA Reining 2016 Champions have been announced and members of the 
		USA Reining Board of Directors were quick to congratulate the new 
		champions who attained their titles through year-long competition at USA 
		Reining events. 
		 
		For the second year in a row, Shane Brown of Elbert, Colorado is the USA 
		Open Champion Reiner. Shane, was a member of Team USA at the 201 SVAG 
		FEI World Reining Championships August 11-13, at the CS Ranch in 
		Givrins, Switzerland riding Susan Geiger's 2009 AQHA stallion Wind Er Up 
		Wimp. Shane has been a National Reining Horse Association Futurity 
		Intermediate Finalist, multiple AQHA World Show qualifier and finalist, 
		an APHA World Show Champion. He has served as Rocky Mountain Reining 
		Horse Association President and as a member of the Board of Directors of 
		the National Reining Horse Association and Chairman of its 
		Professional’s Committee.
